The Greens
Actually, there are several “Greens” – Greens East, Greens North,
Greens West, and it goes by many names.
Personally, I just lump them all together as “The Greens.” (Some people who live
in Greens North and Greens East would disagree, because theirs are the more
upscale sub-neighborhoods….)
The Greens was the first of the “upscale” RB
neighborhoods “way back when.” This is the community that “hosts” the highly
up-scale Rancho Bernardo Inn, the exclusive and private Rancho Bernardo Country
Club, and several golf courses. What was considered darn nice homes back when
the Inn was a 14 room “motel” are suddenly looking a bit tacky, so a pretty
successful remodeling effort has changed many of the homes.
It is NOT an “adult community” and in fact many of the homes are very near the
Rancho Bernardo Community Center, the largest and most active of all of the
community centers.
Being an older community, there are many restored, upgraded, or expanded homes
in the Greens, as well as some that are near original. That makes it difficult
to quote even a range of prices because there is quite a range.
Because this community stretches from Rancho Bernardo Road past the Rancho
Bernardo Inn and golf course, it has some relatively modest homes and some truly
luxurious homes.
Large, centrally located, a wide variety of homes, a great community center and
near the Inn for terrific food – a hard to beat area. (Unless you are looking
for a newer home – but there are many fully expanded and remodeled homes, so
don’t despair.)
