This is a relatively long article, so I have divided it into three Chapters for easy loading on dial-up connections. Please click on the Chapter buttons on the left. Updated information (2004): Changing or adding to the Chapters in Adobe Acrobat is difficult -- so this is where I will place updated information. Two things I HIGHLY recommend on Kauai that you might otherwise miss: Take the helicopter tour of, and actually land on the "Forbidden Island" of Niihau (www.niihau.us); and take the BackCountry Tours tubing adventure down a sugar cane waterway. Each is recommended as something your neighbor has never done, and likely no one else in your neighborhood either! It is only recently that either trip is possible and neither is a usual "tourist" venue...but both are something that is far and above the usual tourist fare. |
