Bernardo Hills
One of the older, and least expensive Rancho Bernardo
communities – and one without its own community center. This
small community is on the eastern border of the Rancho
Bernardo total community. It is actually on the eastern boundary of Rancho
Bernardo – right next to Summerfield Estates in the City of Poway.
(In fact, if you are just looking for the Poway Unified School District, and the
presence or absence of a neighborhood community center is not important as is
the case in Bernardo Heights, I like Summerfield Estates. It is newer, backs up
to luxurious Green Valley and has several half-acre lots!)
But your interest is Rancho Bernardo, so lets continue the tour.
One of Bernardo Hills great advantages is
its proximity to what "old timers" called "Baby Vons." Vons grocery is no longer
in that particular shopping center, but Albertsons grocery has taken its place
and is a very nice store. In fact, there is a Starbucks in that shopping center,
so it gets my vote.
Bernardo Hills is directly across Pomerado
Road, so it is close.
